On 5 May 2010, EASTWEST held its first monthly roundtable forum in Beijing to discuss issues pertaining to social media monitoring on the Chinese market. This is the first of a monthly series of roundtable forums that will be hosted by EASTWEST in Beijing.
Participants, including a blogger, an editor and a marketing professional, shared their knowledge, experience and best practices on the topic of social media monitoring. They learned that the best solutions in China remained manual mapping of online conversations using free tools such as Google blog search, Yahoo or locally dominant sites such as Baidu, Sogou, and Qihu. Participants also shared the best free social media search tools in China.
