CCEM 2014 Conference:
The IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing for Emerging Markets (CCEM) 2014 was inaugurated by Sri Ananth Kumar, Honourable Central Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India & Member of Parliament, South Bangalore Constituency.
The event chaired by Dr. Gopal Pingali, IBM and Dr. D. Janakiram, IIT Madras was held at Taj Vivanta, MG Road, Bangalore, India between 15th – 17th October 2014 to address unique challenges and opportunities presented by emerging markets, particularly India in the field of cloud computing.
Objective: To position IEEE – Cloud Computing for Emerging Markets (CCEM) 2014 Conference as one of the best Cloud Computing Events in the Industry whilst also raising the profile of the event through PR and marketing strategy and raise sponsorship revenues to help towards the funding of the event.
Event Summary: Spanning over three days, the influential summit saw industry leaders, key decision makers, technology heads and experts, government and academia from across the world who shared their knowledge and vision for cloud computing through various programs which includes keynote talks, paper presentation, tutorials, panel session, doctoral symposium and student competition.
With over 170 participants, 17 speakers, 25 paper presentations, 5 Tutorials, start-up showcase and student competition, the event was pronounced as a grand success.
The sponsors include: IBM, NetApp, VMware, IEEE – Cloud Computing Council, Cloud Enabled, Arrow S3, IEEE Bangalore Chapter, IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Communication Society, and IEEE Computer Society’s STC on Cloud Computing.
Scope of Work
Spanning over four months, the project required the EASTWEST India team to:
Identify prospective sponsors in among various corporates both consumers and service providers of Cloud Computing Technology, approaching them with sponsorship proposal,
Identify and connect with key decision makers in the cloud computing segment.
Communicate the key take-away points/deliverables for corporates (Speaker opportunity, panel discussions, paper presentations in exchange for sponsorship),
Communicate with the IEEE team members for specific queries, Network with educational/ technical institutes for participation (IEEE networks in major institutes)
Social Media Marketing – sustained strategic periodic messages on Social Media, PR /Media Management of the conference through press releases, media interactions/interviews.
EASTWEST INDIA PR Strategy
EASTWEST India collated a massive data base of 200+ key decision makers from IT corporates in India (specifically in Bangalore) as part of the Event Marketing & Communication. The team leveraged LinkedIn as a major source for networking for prospective sponsors and organisations.
Our digital marketing plan included promotion of IEEE and CCEM conference on social media including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter along with email marketing to key decision makers and group mails to all the attendees to generate interest.
As a result, we managed to bring all the key stakeholders including past attendees, prospect sponsors, participants, organizers and event Chairs on a single platform which in-turn helped us address case-to-case queries.
