EASTWEST PR Announces New Hires, Promotions to its Beijing Team

EASTWEST Public Relations, a media relations and digital communications agency based in Asia, has recently announced the promotion of Ryan Dutcher to Executive Associate and the appointment of Kelvin Chen as Associate in the agency’s Beijing office. Ryan Dutcher has served at EASTWEST’s  since joining the agency as an Associate in early 2008 and has worked with a wide-variety of international clients including Telegent,  Avnet, Verimatrix, and many others in their pursuit in creating a proper strategy when dealing with the Asian media market. He has provided day-to-day services to clients to ensure they get the exposure they need in the dynamic Asian marketplace. “Ryan’s dedication to our firm as exemplified by his excellent work with our clients has earned him this well-deserved promotion. ”, said Jim James, EASTWEST Managing Director. In his new role, Ryan will be responsible for implementing client strategy and mentoring the agency’s junior-level staff. He will also work closely with the EASTWEST management team to seek out diverse options that will lead to continued stability and the future success of the agency. Prior to joining EASTWEST, Kelvin Chen was a department manager at Asian Metal, where he managed a team of eight researchers who were analyzing China’s dynamic steel market. Kelvin advised clients on current market trends in the industry and offered his guidance on the best market approach. Previously, he was also an Editor for the London Global Times, providing editorial ideas and writing newspaper articles and supplements. Kelvin takes up his new role at the EASTWEST Beijing office, serving as the resident expert on the Chinese media market. “Kelvin made a strong start in the first week. With both Kelvin and Ryan on the team, we are greatly strengthening our presence in China, and our ability to serve our clients,” said Jim James. “It is a very important part of our ongoing development.”
