How you can use media coverage to get more views on Linkedin

How to get noticed on LinkedIn?

Well there are actually many ways, and no answer I can give you today will necessarily be true next month, or possibly even next week. Why? because the platform is always evolving, the algorithm changes and as people try new things that start to work, more an more people copy them and they become less effective. This is not just the effect of a computer code but also the effect of human nature.

To get noticed on LinkedIn, or any social media platform, you need to catch the eye of the viewer as they scroll through their feed.

So I wanted to share with you video showing how one of our clients is using video on LinkedIn to make News out of News.

This is a simple strategy that uses a piece of software called Loom, that allows you to record the screen and also the camera from of your computer at the same time. There are many other pieces of software available that allow you to do the same.

Recent Changes to the LinkedIn Algorithm

LinkedIn users have reported recently that Organic reach on LinkedIn has dropped considerably.

I do talk about this in the video above, but I wanted to mention it here as well.

The point is that it is not a bad thing, you may be losing views, but you are probably gaining more likes – Why? because LinkedIn is now using copycat audiences to show content organically.

It is a bit more complicated, but put simply it works like this:

If I like and interact with  user’s content regularly, then LinkedIn will look at my profile and my interests and they will find an audience that closely matches me. They will then show content to that ‘look-a-like’ audience.

The result is they content is now shown to more people who are likely to engage and react to it.

So the ‘Quality’ of the audience is now improved and is more targeted than ever before.
