Videos are the hero content when it comes to social media. As mentioned in SPEAK|pr, this is all about the picture superiority effect and how the brain will operate with dual coding, a theory explained by Allan Paivio. The idea is basically that the brain will process images and audio separately. But with video, it actually connects the two together, which makes it doubly impactful. That’s the theory behind why videos are so impactful. Now, how is it possible to make a 45-second video in less than six seconds for free? The answer is Lumen5.

The challenge when it comes to creating video content is that for the average company, it’s difficult to do because it’s expensive to create content. Also, it requires some skill sets of the kind that writing does not. Creating videos is altogether harder, both in terms of storyboarding, editing, and getting everything right. It used to be beyond the reach of the average small company. One could have it done by a small production company, but it may cost up to £500 or £1,000 just for a few minutes worth of video content. Even then, you may have found that your need for it has has passed by the time that it’s ready, because production times for video can take quite a long time.

How Lumen5 solves a major problem for businesses

Luckily, SPEAK|pr aims to help entrepreneurs manage their businesses with the help AI-led technologies, especially when it comes to creating content. One solution for video content creation is Lumen5. Over 700,000 businesses use this platform, not to mention the fact that it is free to sign up. With their Community Plan, one can make five videos per billing cycle and output it to 720 or 1080 HD as well as have access to millions of photos, videos, and music tracks. They also have a marketplace for media. To create a video, one can enter a URL of something like a blog post or enter content directly into the text dialog area, and within as short as six seconds, Lumen5 can produce a 45-second video with music too, all within their free version. A company logo can be added in there as well. Unlike other similar services where the video images are not really relevant to the text, the images Lumen5 picks are relevant to the context. It doesn’t stop there. It comes with the option to change and add more scenes by adding in more text, images, or your own video. To change the music, however, one would need to upgrade the program.

SPEAK|pr also talks about sonic branding and with Lumen5, it can help businesses maintain their sonic branding. I was then able to download that video. Videos can also be resized depending on the platform it will be posted on, which is a very helpful feature. This allows the creation and repurposing of content for multiple platforms pretty much instantly and share them across your channels, because Lumen5 can be linked to social media accounts.

To create five videos per cycle for free is a pretty good deal. To possibly add in sonic branding, that would be $19 a month billed annually. That saves you 35%, and this comes with 10 videos per month and an option to remove the Lumen5 branding. For brands focused on reaching growth, for $149 per month billed annually, you can have 20 videos, 200 million stock photos and videos, you can upload your own watermark, and you can have multiple brand profiles, so this would be perfect for an agency. Apart from this, they have 24/7 live chat support.

With Lumen5 videos, the resolution is great, the music is good, and the sound quality is awesome. Their system is honest, simple, and straightforward to use, and their workflow is also nice and easy to understand. In summary, Lumen5 is the ultimate tool for creating video from existing text. One simply cuts and pastes a blog post URL from a website and within six seconds, it produces a video. It’s pretty amazing, and the best part is that it is free.
