EASTWEST Public Relations has just announced that Kelvin Chen, previously a journalist and market research analyst, has just joined the agency as a new addition to its Beijing team. Kelvin will join EASTWEST as an Associate. Prior to joining EASTWEST, Kelvin was a department manager in a market research company, where he managed a team of eight researchers who were analyzing China’s dynamic steel market. Kelvin advised clients on current market trends in the industry and offered his guidance the best market approach. This position gave him the opportunity to develop close relationships with corporate clients and key government staff. In September 2009, he successfully organized and hosted the 3rd Chinese Autumn Steel Market Forum in Tianjin. Prior to market analysis, Kelvin worked as the cultural editor for a London-based newspaper, where he played a vital role in providing editorial ideas for the column and writing newspaper articles and supplements. In 2007, he pursued his interest in the media by embarking on a European study trip to Brussels where he met and talked with the General Directorates from the EU parliament, journalists and media experts to explore the communication policies carried out in the EU. Kelvin obtained a BA in English from the University of Architecture in China and a MA in communications from University of Leeds in the UK.
