Talkwalker is a social media management tool that’s focused on tracking a brand’s online reputation and sentiment across social, print, TV, radio, and online.
Talkwalker is not cheap, but it is immensely powerful. If you are looking for a social media publishing and scheduling tool then this is not for you. However if you are looking to gain real insights into your brand reputation, mentions and sentiment across a range of sources then Talkwalker really excels in this area.
What makes Talkwalker unique is that it not only monitors the popular social media channels but also looks at TV, print and radio. Using AI and image recognition technology it can track you brand and even looks at emoticons in messages related to your brand, along with text mentioning your brand to really gauge brand sentiment.
As their website states “Talkwalker is your extra set of eyes and ears. Its AI powered analysis provides real time insights into what’s happening on all social channels and online media, across 187 languages. This enables you to quickly identify issues and complaints before a crisis hits.” making it a valuable social monitoring tool
It is one of the few tools that can be used from a true PR perspective when monitoring social ‘chat’ about your brand, that extends to traditional channel monitoring. The reporting and analytics are really in-depth and give a complete 360° view.
Talkwalker is expensive, so is maybe not a good option for small businesses or those not serious about investing in managing their global brand reputation. The basic plan is over £500 per month and doesn’t include those advanced features like image recognition and AI monitoring and analytics – but these are available as ‘add-ons’.
The pricing page encourages interested parties to get in touch so they are offering tailored sets of features so at least your investment is in features that you actually want and need.
