Yamaha launches First AV Lifestyle Concept Showroom in Singapore
Sharing Passion & Performance in High Fidelity Audio
(Singapore, 4 July 2018) – Yamaha Audio Visual is set to open its first lifestyle concept store in Singapore. The Yamaha Experience Studio (YES), the first of
its kind in ASEAN, will provide a space for audiophiles to share their passion for music and experience the performance of high fidelity audio, including its highly acclaimed AVENTAGE AV Receiver series and new MusicCast system.
The 58-sqm flagship store will be opening officially on July 6 at Plaza Singapura. It will allow visitors to hear music as if the artist was in the room with them, as well as to learn how to reproduce this experience in their own environment.
“High fidelity audio is an education and an experience that Yamaha wants to share with people of all ages and musical tastes. The new Yamaha Experience Studio aims to combine both audio quality with new technologies for streaming and managing music,” says Masahiro Ikeda, Managing Director, Yamaha Music (Asia) Private Limited.
There is a global trend towards consumers appreciating high fidelity and high-resolution audio, followed by the path of high definition 4k TV. According to The NPD Group’s Retail Tracking Service, high-resolution audio devices have experienced steady growth with U.S. dollar sales increasing 77 percent in 2016 compared to 2014 and unit sales more than doubling over the same time period (118 percent growth). In 2017, the global wireless speaker market was projected to reach 6.5 billion in US dollars in revenue alone. Asia Pacific is expected to be the fastest growing region in the wireless audio device market, due to the growing technological advancements and increasing adoption of smartphones in the region, according to WiseGuyReports.
The Yamaha Experience Studio combines the authenticity of listening to music with the technologies that make the experience available at the time and place that consumers want to enjoy. The philosophy of
Yamaha combines the passion for performance with environmental responsibilities. As the demand for high-fidelity audio grows
in Singapore, the showroom will form a key part in Yamaha’s strategy to ensure top-tier music is never more than a heartbeat away.
The products at the Yamaha Experience Studio feature patented technologies that have been developed over many years. These include the Cinema DSP, which recreates the acoustic experience of a movie theatre and popular music venues such as New York’s The Bottom Line and Roxy Theater and even European cathedrals; the Yamaha Digital Sound Projector technology which produces sound beams that reflect off the walls of a room and envelop the listener; and Advanced YST, which enables linear coupling between amplifiers and speaker drivers for a more natural and energetic bass reproduction. These innovations and high-fidelity sound experiences can be enjoyed first-hand at the new showroom.
The newly launched MusicCast application is designed to allow consumers to enjoy optimised audio through their work or home environment. The system works with an existing Wi-Fi router in private homes through a free MusicCast Controller app operating on iOS or Android smartphone or tablet. The app allows access to a variety of content sources and controls the playback of MusicCast devices. Yamaha offers a wide range of MusicCast-enabled devices, including AV receivers, soundbars, wireless speakers, wireless streaming amplifiers, Hi-Fi components, and Hi-Fi systems, all of which appeal to a broad range of customers at a variety of functionality, product forms and performance levels.
